Record attendance at the Haushahn Final4
More than 7,000 people cheered on the handball players last Saturday and Sunday. The tournament then found its worthy winner in HB Ludwigsburg. The current Bundesliga table leaders won 31:21 against HSG Blomberg-Lippe. The team thus won the DHB Women's Cup for the fourth time after 2021, 2022 and 2023 (still under the old name SG BBM Bietigheim). When captain Xenia Smits received the trophy from Andreas Thiel, Chairman of the Women's Handball Bundesliga, the jubilation in the shower of confetti knew no bounds.
Thiel was completely satisfied: ‘On the first day alone, well over 3,000 spectators watched thrilling matches and created a great atmosphere. On the final day, I was thrilled by the passionate match for third place. Ludwigsburg definitely deserved to win the cup, also in terms of the level of success. And the fact that we then had a new attendance record was the icing on the cake of the weekend, which was once again perfectly organised by our office.’
Stuttgart once again proved to be a great venue for women's handball. National coach Markus Gaugisch and the DHB leadership around President Andreas Michelmann and CEO Mark Schober were also able to witness this.
