Hall duo honours Die Fantastischen Vier with ‘Troy’ award
Last Sunday evening, the forefathers of German-language hip-hop once again shook the completely sold-out Schleyer-Halle to celebrate a memorable and touching evening with more than 12,000 exuberant fans. The performance not only celebrated the current album ‘Long Player’, but also the unique tradition of these Christmas concerts in the Schleyer-Halle. The hall duo said ‘thank you’ for this tradition in a very special way: with a special ‘Troy’ award for more than three decades of loyalty and friendship. Andreas Kroll, Managing Director of in.Stuttgart Veranstaltungsgesellschaft, and René Otterbein, Head of Department of the hall duo, presented the ‘Fantas’ with the award in the run-up to the performance.
More than thirty years ago, on 23 December 1993 to be precise, Die Fantastischen Vier ventured into Stuttgart's largest event arena, the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, for the first time with their successful album ‘Die 4. Dimension’, which had just been released at the time. Eleven years later, the hip-hop legend finally played the Schleyer-Halle again: with a sold-out double concert on 15 and 16 December 2004. Since then, the quartet and the venerable concert venue in NeckarPark have enjoyed a very special friendship.
