Jelena Ostapenko wins Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in front of packed grandstands

The spectators in the Porsche Arena experienced an atmospheric and high-scoring final of the 48th Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

Jelena Ostapenko dominated the final right from the start, much to the surprise of her opponent Aryna Sablenka, who came to Stuttgart as the world number one and clear favorite. But the Belarusian player, seeded number 1, never found her game. Quite the opposite of Latvian-born Ostapenko, who last won the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in doubles in 2017. She left nothing to chance over two sets and won 6:4 and 6:1 after just 1:25 hours.

The world number 24 can now look forward to a brand new Porsche Macan Turbo in Papaya Metallic, which she drove off the clay court to thunderous applause from the stands. “I would like to thank my team for always being by my side,” beamed the winner after her dominant performance. “The crowd here in the Porsche Arena is amazing, you make the tournament in this hall a unique experience,” the 27-year-old concluded.
