Women's World Handball Championship starts in the Porsche-Arena
Because handball is a women's game this year. The international elite of women's handball will compete at the Women's World Handball Championship in Stuttgart as one of three German venues. Two preliminary round groups, including that of the German national team under national coach Markus Gaugisch, will be held in the Porsche-Arena.
The German Handball Federation presented the official ‘Host City’ signs to the city during the reception for the Haushahn Final4 yesterday.
Dr Clemens Maier, Mayor for Safety, Order and Sport, is already looking forward to the event: ‘We are proud that the DHB has chosen Stuttgart as the host city for the 27th IHF Women's Handball World Championship 2025. This tournament will bring sporting highlights and a great atmosphere to Stuttgart. We are looking forward to welcoming the world of handball and sharing our enthusiasm for the sport. Together with the fans, the teams and everyone involved, we want to celebrate an unforgettable handball festival.’
